KALAMAZOO, MI -- A fast-moving storm ripped through Kalamazoo about 5:45 p.m. Friday, knocking down trees and power lines. At 6:30 p.m., Consumers Energy was reporting more than 5,000 customers had lost service in the Kalamazoo area.
