Study finds students in Michigan charter schools making greater strides than public schools

Study finds advantage is greater for students at charter schools in Detroit
Charter school students in Michigan and Detroit are out-learning their public school counterparts, according to a report released Monday by Stanford University's Center for Research on Education Outcomes. The CREDO report showed that the typical student in a Michigan charter school gained more learning in a year than his or her district school peer - an advantage equal to about an additional two months of learning in reading and math.
